Placemaker by Christie Purifoy.  Cultivating Places of Comfort, Beauty, and Peace. Published by Zondervan.

Purifoy pens a poetic and artistic book on how she came to learn the importance of creating places of beauty, peace, and comfort in the world she lives in. Using examples from different times in her life as she and her family have learned about life through normal losses, joys, griefs, and a love for nature, she winds her faith and love throughout this invitation to discover that “God Invites Us To Live as Placemakers.”

With many tales from her years in restoring an old farmhouse, learning about the beauty, joy, and frustration in cultivating trees and plants and restoring historic buildings, she winds a story of faith, love, determination, and community.

A warning, if you’re are looking for a fast read, this is not the book for you. If you enjoy a piece by piece discovery of beauty woven into a painting of life by one who cherishes words as much as she does other aspects of the beauty God has created, then you will enjoy this book.

The book is a little over 200 pages, filled with inspiration, knowledge, humor, and the recognition of both the frailty and power found in all life. Enjoy.
