Beloved

Beloved: 365 Devotions For Young Women, by Lindsay A. Franklin, published by Zondervan

Besides being an attractive book with flowers and pastel colors, this devotional goes beyond the physical attractiveness and offers a beautiful work of affirmation for women of any age. Each devotion is based on Bible Scripture and addresses the issues that have been timely for women from the beginning of time. Whether it is in how a woman views herself, how she thinks other perceive her, whether she has a purpose, whether she is viable in this world today,  there are wonderful examples and clarifications in this small devotional. The greatest beauty of this book is in how it touches those sensitive issues that young women particularly are dealing with. Their body images. Their sensuality. Their relationships. How they fit in. How to deal with bullying. How to be a friend. How to have boundaries. How to realize the validity of differences in people. How to accept themselves. How to be strong. How to be courageous. How to be hard workers. How to use your God-given skills. How to plan.

For 356 days, this book wraps God’s love and instruction around young women to help them grow into the fullness of who God has created them to be.

Each page offers a few lines at the bottom of the page to enable those using it to write notes or prayers. It fits easily into a purse or back pack. It is something well worth giving a daughter, a granddaughter or a young friend. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book!
